VICTORIAN PORCH POST REPAIR
The porch was jacked up relieve the weight on the old post and provide access to the rotten flooring and floor joist underneath. The rotten flooring and joist were replaced. The lower post base (attached to railing) was removed and the inside was re-inforced. The entire middle section of the post was replaced, with interior plates to secure it to the upper portion (grey “X”). The porch was then lowered back down so the new post would bear the weight.
